SAN DIEGO -- A man's body was found Tuesday afternoon near a Starbucks in Clairemont, prompting an investigation by San Diego police.

The body was discovered shortly after 2 p.m. near the drive-thru of the coffee chain in the 4700 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, near Diane Avenue.

Police determined the man, who has not been identified, died of natural causes.

Clark Naberschnig, who visits the Starbucks every afternoon, said he had seen the man in recent days.

"I've seen the homeless guy sitting over there by the little charging station. The last couple days I've seen him sitting over there, both in the morning and at night. It kind of looked like somebody just sitting over there trying to stay in the shade or out of the elements," Nabershnig said.
