‘M*A*S*H’ star David Ogden Stiers dead at 75

NEWPORT, Ore. — “M*A*S*H” star David Ogden Stiers died at his Oregon home on Saturday after a battle with bladder cancer.

Stiers’ agent Mitchell Stubbs shared the news on Twitter:

The actor joined the cast of “M*A*S*H” in 1977, earning two Emmy nominations for his portrayal of the arrogant but talented surgeon Major Charles Emerson Winchester III. He remained on the show until it ended in 1983, and went on to a successful career as a voice actor in Disney and other animated films.

Stiers was 75.
