SAN DIEGO -- Seven families will spend Thanksgiving in a Kearny High School gym after flames ripped through an apartment complex in Clairemont late Tuesday night.

The blaze broke out at Stratton Apartment Homes in the 3800 block of Caminito Aguilar around 10:30 p.m., causing 75 people to be displaced.

The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials believe the blaze, which caused an estimated at $300,000 in damages, started when a stove was left unattended.
