Fight between women escalates to stabbing in Rancho Bernardo

SAN DIEGO – A dispute between two women in Rancho Bernardo escalated Monday into a stabbing that left one of them wounded, authorities reported.

The assault in the area of Pomerado and Highland Valley roads occurred about 10 a.m., according to San Diego police.

The 39-year-old victim was treated for non-life-threatening arm wounds, Officer Dino Delimitros said. She described the unidentified assailant as a roughly 5-feet, 7-inches tall, 140-pound white woman who appeared to be about 30 years old.

The nature of the dispute was unclear, Officer John Buttle said.
