SAN DIEGO – After being dormant for more than 30 years, a neighborhood watch program has returned to a Kearny Mesa neighborhood.

Officers from San Diego Police Department's Eastern Division and Councilman Chris Cate installed eight new program signs Friday in Royal Highlands, east of Interstate 805.

Police did not highlight a specific uptick in time, but residents say there is often suspicious activity near business parks and freeways.
