Man shot, found on shoulder of freeway in Emerald Hills

SAN DIEGO – A man is not expected to survive a gunshot wound suffered on the north shoulder of the Martin Luther King Jr. (94) Freeway, in the Emerald Hills section of San Diego.

Officers dispatched at 11:35 p.m. Saturday to the freeway, near Euclid Avenue, on a “shots fired” call found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, said San Diego police Lt. Ray Valentin.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is not expected to survive,” Valentin said.

The San Diego Police Department asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call their Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293.
