Man dies after being shot on freeway

SAN DIEGO - The man who was shot on the north shoulder of the state Route 94 freeway in Emerald Hills died Sunday.

Officers responded to the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway at 11:35 p.m. Saturday near Euclid Avenue, on a "shots fired" call. They found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, said San Diego police Lt. Ray Valentin.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died Sunday morning, according to police.

The San Diego Police Department asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call their Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293.
