OCEANSIDE — An Oceanside woman was briefly trapped underneath her car Monday when it rolled onto her on a sloping driveway, but responding police officers were able to lift the vehicle and free her.

The accident on Mountain Vista Way near Via Esmarca was reported around 9:15 a.m. The woman, who is in her 40s, was run over as she exited her car to close the garage door after backing out, Oceanside police Officer Ignacio Lopez said.

Police officers sent to the home found her under the car and lifted it enough to pull her out. She was subsequently taken to Tri-City Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Lopez said.
