High-speed chase ends with driver arrested in Normal Heights

A driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase Thursday from the Bonsall area to San Diego.

SAN DIEGO – A driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase Thursday from the Bonsall area to San Diego.

Officers attempted to pull over a white Toyota Camry in the vicinity of state Route 76 and Interstate 15 around 1 a.m., but the driver sped off, according to the CHP.

The car headed south on Interstate 15 through Escondido, Poway and into San Diego before exiting onto Adams Avenue in the Normal Heights area. CHP officials said the driver eventually stopped on Adams Avenue near 33rd Street and was taken into custody.
