Gas leak prompts evacuation of El Cajon businesses

EL CAJON, Calif. — SDG&E crews responded Thursday to a gas leak in El Cajon.

The gas leak at 201 E. Main Street was reported at 2:30 p.m.

The leak was contained by 4:35 p.m. E. Main Street was temporarily closed between Magnolia and Claydelle avenues, but has since reopened.

Nearby businesses were temporarily evacuated.
