SAN DIEGO — A drunken man was hit by a pickup truck while trying to dash across a Kearny Mesa-area street mid-block, police said Thursday.

The 50-year-old pedestrian suffered serious head and facial injuries in the crash on Ronson Road near Shawline Street around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The 51-year-old man behind the wheel of the eastbound Toyota Tundra that struck the victim was apparently unhurt. Delimitros said traffic division officers were investigating the crash.
