Mira Mesa shooting suspect surrenders to police

SAN DIEGO — A suspect that escaped police after a four-hour SWAT standoff Tuesday in Mira Mesa is behind bars.

Michael Paganvega, 27, turned himself in to police Friday night, according to San Diego police.

He was wanted in connection to a shooting at the Hourglass Field Community Park. Shortly after the shooting, Paganvega was thought to be holed up in a nearby home, but was not found after a siege.

He was arrested at the San Diego Police Department headquarters in downtown and booked into San Diego County Jail.
