SAN DIEGO – A computer outage at the Department of Motor Vehicles last week was still hampering operations Tuesday at the Oceanside office and one other location in Orange County.

The Oct. 24 outage affected DMV offices statewide, but operations were slowly restored throughout the week. The Costa Mesa office is also still being impacted, according to the agency.

Full operations at a third location that was still affected, in San Jose, were restored by midday.

The Oceanside office is unable to process driver license and vehicle registration transactions, Jessica Gonzalez of the DMV told City News Service. She said staff is still assisting customers by helping with paperwork, answering questions, scheduling return appointments and conducting drive tests.

Online services remain available to customers, according to the DMV.
