SAN DIEGO – At least one person was injured Tuesday night when an allegedly drunken driver sped through a red light into a busy intersection and crashed into two other vehicles.

John Williams was stopped at the light at Euclid Street and Imperial Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. when a black Mazda sedan passed him and "flew through the light."

"I was stunned and surprised," Williams said. "What he did was blind. The intersection was full of cars."

The Mazda slammed into a gray pickup and a silver Chrysler 300 sedan. Williams watched as several bystanders pulled the driver out of the Mazda. He looked dazed or drunk, Williams said.

One person in one of the vehicles was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The driver of the Mazda was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
