2 displaced in Tierrasanta townhouse fire

SAN DIEGO — Two people, along with a dog and a cat, were displaced  after their Tierrasanta townouse caught fire Sunday night, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

Officials say the fire broke out around 9:20 p.m. on the 11300 block of Camino Playa Cancun. Firefighters knocked down the fire about 20 minutes later

SD Fire told FOX 5 the fire was most contained to a second-floor bedroom, though the rest of the residence sustained some smoke damage.

The two residents were evaluated by medical personnel but fortunately suffered no injuries, fire officials said. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents find temporary housing.
