SAN DIEGO – A man was stabbed in the chest by another man while at Mission Bay Park with a group of people, authorities said Sunday.

The stabbing was reported at 11:47 p.m. Saturday at 1700 East Mission Bay Drive, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

“A verbal argument started and a 25-year-old male was stabbed in the right side just below the chest by an unknown suspect,” Heims said.

The suspect was seen running northbound on East Mission Bay Drive, he said.

The victim was taken to a hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Heims said.
