SAN DIEGO -- A motorcyclist who led police on a chase through Kearny Mesa Monday was arrested after he hit a dead-end.

The pursuit started around 10 p.m. when police tried to pull the driver over at Kearny Mesa Road and Convoy Street for having no plates.

The rider refused to stop and sped through city streets until he turned into an auto shop parking lot on Balboa Avenue and tried to run.

Officers were able to catch up with him and he was arrested.

The man told police he removed his license plates because he had outstanding tickets. His identity has not yet been released.
