Teen cited after driving boyfriend’s car into 7-Eleven

SAN DIEGO - A Chula Vista 7-Eleven was forced to temporarily shut down after a driver drove through its front windows.

The driver, though, should not have been behind the wheel in the first place, according to police.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday night at the store off Hilltop Drive and Orange Avenue in Chula Vista.

Authorities ay a teenage female driver was behind the wheel of her boyfriend’s Mercedes Benz, when she tried to park the girl accidentally hit the gas, plowing the car through the store’s windows.

No one was reported injured.

Chula Vista Police cited the driver for being driving without a license.
