SAN DIEGO — Two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Pacific Beach early Friday.

The 23- and 25-year-old victims were attempting to cross Garnet Avenue while eastbound traffic was stopped near Bayard Street when they were struck shortly after 1 a.m. by a sedan that was heading east in a westbound lane to get around the backup.

The driver did not stop after striking the two men but continued east on Garnet Avenue.

Both victims were taken to a hospital. One victim suffered a traumatic brain injury and the other sustained a laceration across his forehead.

A detailed description of the suspect or of the vehicle involved was not immediately available.
