Man pulled from water off Ocean Beach dies

SAN DIEGO -- A missing man pulled from the ocean by lifeguards near Dog Beach early Wednesday has died.

The 27-year-old man was unconscious when he was pulled to shore around 3:30 a.m. near Brighton Ave. and Spray Street, authorities said.

Lifeguards performed CPR on the man for 15 minutes before he was taken to the hospital.

Friends reported the man missing and police received another call about a man struggling in the water.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
