SAN DIEGO – Scattered thunderstorms near southern San Diego County could cause lightning at the beaches, the National Service warned Monday.
A Beach Hazards Warning was issued until 10 a.m. for possible lightning. The greatest threat will be near Imperial Beach.
Lightning was detected over the ocean around 7:15 a.m. about 10 miles west of the border. Conditions are expected to improve by late morning.
