Lifeguards rescue paraglider who crashed into cliffs

SAN DIEGO – San Diego lifeguards rescued a paraglider from the cliffs at Black’s Beach near Torrey Pines Wednesday.

A paraglider who crashed onto a sea bluff about a quarter-mile north of Torrey Pines Gliderport Wednesday afternoon was unharmed, a fire department spokesman said. Lifeguards helped him get down to the beach safely.

It was unknown what caused the paraglider to crash into the cliff.

Lifeguards posted a picture of the rescue to Twitter.
