3 injured when scooter slams into bus

SAN DIEGO – Three people riding an electric scooter in Mission Beach were injured after the driver rear ended a stopped bus, police said Tuesday.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Mission Bay Drive.

One of the passengers, a 35-year-old woman, suffered a life-threatening brain bleed. The other passenger, a 25-year-old woman, has a broken wrist. The 46-year-old driver has a broken arm.

Police continue to investigate.
