SAN DIEGO - A driver was rescued from an overturned vehicle at a busy intersection in Kearny Mesa Thursday afternoon.

Two vehicles collided at Chesapeake Drive and Ruffin Road around 4:30 p.m.

A black Lexus was headed south on Ruffin Road when a Jeep Grand Cherokee tried to make left turn in front of him on Chesapeake Drive.

The driver of the Jeep was able to free himself and was taken to a hospital, but it took at least a dozen firefighters about an hour remove the driver of the Lexus, whose foot was stuck under a pedal.
