Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon to take over roadways Sunday

Rock 'N' Roll Marathon

SAN DIEGO – More than 30,000 runners and walkers, and tens of thousands of spectators will take  over roadways in downtown San Diego, Mission Valley and Mission Bay this weekend at the 2016 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.

Road closures will begin Saturday when a 5K race will take place in Balboa Park. Most closures will take place inside the park, with minimal closures along 6th Avenue.

The biggest traffic disruptions will happen on Sunday during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and ½ Marathon. The races begin at 6:30 a.m., and most of the road closures and detours will take place between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. Check the interactive map below for the race route and a list of street and closures.
