SAN DIEGO -- More than 68,000 soccer fans attended Wednesday night's game between Mexico and Chile at Qualcomm Stadium.

Long before the 7 p.m. kickoff, fans were celebrating in the parking lot, grilling meat, drinking beer and chanting "México, México, México."

That same passion and fervor for the game carried over inside the Q as fans cheered and pushed their team to victory.

If you've never seen this spectacle, it's hard to forget.

"I think this is really part of our cultural fabric here in San Diego where you have a million Mexican-Americans in the county. This is their Super bowl, this is a huge deal," said Mark Zeigler, U-T San Diego Sports Writer.

Mexico went on to win 1 - 0, thanks to a late goal by Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.
