SAN DIEGO – A woman was startled after finding a python in her bathtub at her Golden Hill home, animal control officers said Tuesday.

County of San Diego Department of Animal Services posted two pictures of the ball python that was discovered curled around the drain on Thursday.  The woman had turned on the water in the bathtub and was surprised to see the snake.

The residents of the apartment said they have no idea how the snake made it into the home, much less the bathtub.

The snake was rescued by county animal control officers and taken to their care facility on Gaines Street.

This was the second “bathtub rescue” made in a week. Two days before the snake was found, a small dog needed to be rescued from a tub drain.

The dog had been bathed and went to jump out of the tub when its foot got stuck in the drain.
