SAN DIEGO - A delivery driver was caught on video taking off with more than a tip.

Charlie Humphrey, who lives at The Point at Mission Hills apartments off Pennsylvania Avenue, said security cameras had a clear shot of the theft.

A woman ordered Chipotle from the food delivery app Postmates on Thursday.  Then, a delivery man was seen walking into the apartments carrying the food upstairs.

The video shows the man, who was wearing a red shirt and red-dyed dreadlocks, minutes later walking, toss a box in the trash and walking out with a neighbor's Amazon box under his arm.

“Not only the theft, but what he stole a pretty low thing to do,” said Humphrey. "It was a Mother’s Day gift for a 95-year-old grandmother and the gift itself was an item that was purchased that benefits a non-profit organization.”

“I’m not sure if that’s part of the employee handbook for Postmates, but that’s exactly what he did,” said Humphrey.

The crook is seen driving off in a silver Toyota Prius.

Renters of the complex said they've seen nearly a dozen similar thefts in the past six months.

“I like to think if he knew what was inside that box he would feel really, really bad. I don’t know if that’s possible with these guys,” Humphrey said.

The woman who ordered the delivery said the driver was rated 4.9 out of 5.0 and says she even gave him a 20 percent tip.

The Postmates website says all employees are thoroughly vetted, including a background check.
