Student pepper sprays classmates at Helix High

LA MESA, Calif. – A student at Helix High School is accused of pepper-spraying other students Wednesday morning.

Student told FOX 5 an argument over Twitter led to one girl pepper spraying her classmate in the library around 8:30 a.m. At least 10 students standing nearby were affected by the pepper spray.

La Mesa police were investigating an incident on 7323 University Avenue, Helix High School Executive Director Mike Lewis said.

A school official said the school nurse treated the students and no outside medics were needed.

All parents of the students who were involved in the incident were notified, Lewis said. None of the students needed medical attention, he added.

The student accused of the attack "will face disciplinary actions," according to Lewis.  He would not go into other details.
