Man stabbed when argument escalates in Hillcrest

SAN DIEGO — A stabbing during an argument in Hillcrest sent one man to a hospital and a second to jail.

A 27-year-old man picked a fight with a 58-year-old man for unknown reasons in the vicinity of Fifth and University avenues shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The older man responded by stabbing the younger man in the left side of his abdomen.

San Diego Police said the wounded man was taken to a hospital to be treated for non- life-threatening injuries, and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
