SAN DIEGO – Two Hawaiians were arrested in connection to the murder of a former Encinitas man, police said.

A 16-year-old boy and Healohaomakanaamekai Akahi Pua, 24, of Hawaii were arrested Saturday, according to Maui Police Department.

Michael Colby, 39, was found dead in brush between the shoreline and street March 1 in an area of Kaa Point, just west of Kanaha Beach, Hawaii Tribune reported.

Colby’s pickup truck was found in a nearby parking lot with smashed in windows, windshield and turn signals, KHON reported.

The teen boy, whose name was not release due to being a minor, was turned over to the sheriff’s department and Akahi Pua was charged with second degree murder.  His bail was set at $1,000,000.

Colby was a painter and moved from Encinitas to Hawaii five years ago.
