CHULA VISTA, Calif. – A prom catered to special needs students lived up to its name, “A Night to Remember,” Friday night in Eastlake.

Four hundred special needs students -- also known as honored guests – were given star treatment from the moment they arrived as they walked down a red carpet in front of adoring fans after getting pampered.

From hair and makeup to jewelry to limousine rides, the 6th annual event was paid for by $40,000 in donations.

Good music, dancing and hanging out with friends made for an unforgettable evening.

The event began in 2011, thanks to Rob and Cheryl Shields, and was made memorable because of donors like San Diego Chargers, Steve and Mary Birch and the Eastlake Church.
