SAN DIEGO — A crash at a University City intersection left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries Tuesday night.

The driver of a Ford Mustang pulled into the intersection of Arriba Street and Regents Road on a green light, but for unknown reasons veered into the opposite lanes of traffic and into the crosswalk where the pedestrian was walking.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was struck and severely injured shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

San Diego Police’s traffic division officers have launched an investigation into the crash.
