Arguing heard on street before deadly shooting

SAN DIEGO – Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting of a 44-year-old man in the Lincoln Park neighborhood Sunday evening.

One person died after getting shot several times near Reynolds Street and S. Willie James Jones Avenue around 8 p.m., San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.  People heard arguing in the middle of the street before the shooting, police said. Then, a car sped away from the area.

No information about the possible gunman was released.

The identity of the person who died was not immediately known.
