Woman arrested in Midway District arson series
SAN DIEGO — A transient woman was arrested early Thursday for allegedly setting small fires in the Midway District.
Firefighters and police were sent to an area near Kaiser Permanente medical offices at the corner of Kenyon and Wing streets after the small fires broke out around 3:15 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali. The Metro Arson Strike Team was later summoned.
It was not immediately clear if the woman also was suspected in a string of small fires set around the North Park and Hillcrest neighborhoods Monday morning.
Those fires damaged two trucks, a garage and several trash cans.
