LONG ISLAND, NY — An airplane carrying a father and daughter literally fell out of the sky in Long Island on Saturday, making a hard landing that was captured on surveillance video.

The plane came down on a grassy area inside an industrial park in Suffolk County.

Louis Obergh was flying with his daughter when the plane lost engine power at about 2,000 feet, police said. An emergency parachute attached to the plane helped guide the aircraft to a safe landing.

Obergh and his daughter walked away from the crash unhurt.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating.
