Suspect arrested in La Jolla sex assault

SAN DIEGO – Police have arrested an Oxnard man after an attempted rape on a quiet street in La Jolla.

The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was walking to car in the 7700 block of Exchange Place Wednesday just after 9 p.m., when a man, grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground, police said. She fought with him and screamed and the man eventually fled on foot.

A short time later, police located 25-year-old Marco Antonio Villasenor walking in the 7700 block of Faye Avenue. The victim identified Villasenor as her attacker, and he was taken into custody.

Villasenor, a resident of Oxnard, was booked into jail for one count of assault with intent to commit rape, one count of sexual battery and one count of forced penetration with a foreign object.
