SAN DIEGO - An armed thief robbed a Linda Vista donut shop made off with the store's cash register, police said Saturday.

The suspect walked into Yum Yum Donut Shop at 6925 Linda Vista Road at 4:45 a.m. Saturday and pointed a gun at the clerk demanding money.

Store surveillance cameras captured the crime that lasted about a minute. The video shows the robber waive a gun at employees before using a knife to cut the register loose. The man is then seen running down a back alley.

"The cables were connected so he couldn’t pull it out. He took out the knife, cut it and he took the whole thing," said clerk Angel Yanez.

"I was shaking, I mean yeah you get scared. I think anybody would get scared," said Yanez.

Yanez said this is the second time he has been robbed, the last dating back to the mid-1990s.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery should call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
