LOS ANGELES – Shaun White, San Diego's Flying Tomato, has high hopes for the extreme sport and music festival he is organizing later this month at the L.A. Coliseum Expo Park.

Air+Style 2016 will take place on Feb. 20 and 21. White has a long association with the festival, which began about 20 years ago in Austria.

"I was a competitor in the event, I became a host of the event, and now I'm the owner of the event," he told FOX 5 Thursday.

Among the attractions at the festival is a 16-story launch tower for snowboard jumpers. But White says it's more than an extreme sports competition. It will have more than a dozen musical acts, including J. Cole, Incubus, Kaskade and All Time Low.

"It's like Coachella meets X Games," White said. "You combine those things together and what you get is the culture of the sport, which is so exciting to me because it's so much more than a sport."
