Record-breaking temps heat up San Diego

SAN DIEGO – It’s February and temperatures are spiking well above 80 degrees in San Diego.  The trend might last through the week, weather experts said Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to be about 10 to 20 degrees above normal this week. Several areas set new records Tuesday, including Lindbergh Field where it reached into the 80s breaking the record of 77 degrees set in 1907.

Other record highs were recorded in several places:

  • San Diego 82
  • Escondido 87
  • Chula Vista 84
  • Alpine 83
  • Ramona 84
  • El Cajon 90
  • Vista 82

Pictures of people bragging about the spectacular weather were posted all over Twitter Tuesday.
