Car fire blocks all lanes on Coronado bridge

SAN DIEGO — All lanes on the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge were briefly blocked because of  a car fire Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The fire was first reported at about 7:50 a.m. The burning car was in the westbound lanes of the bridge, but emergency responders also briefly shut down eastbound lanes.

As of 8:10 a.m., the fire had been extinguished and traffic was moving across the bridge in both direction.
