SAN DIEGO — A 45-year-old man suffered serious injuries when a commercial vehicle backed into him while he was working on his pickup truck in Pacific Beach, police reported Tuesday.

The victim was struck by a “large commercial truck” in the 4600 block of De Soto Street near Garnet Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. He was making repairs to his 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck at the time.

Delimitros said the man suffered a fractured leg, but his injuries were not life-threatening. His name was not released.
