ESCONDIDO, Calif. – Thieves used a pickup to drag a cash machine from a taco shop near the Westfield North County mall in a pre-dawn heist Tuesday, police said.

A newspaper delivery person called police after noticing that the front door had been ripped off of Chito's Taco Shop. When officers arrived, they discovered that the ATM in the shop was gone.

Robbers attempted to steal the ATM from the same taco shop in December. They damaged the shops doors and front windows, but they were unable to remove the ATM and fled empty handed.

Police did not have a description of the robbers, but they were reviewing the taco shop's security cameras.
