Man arrested in Chula Vista shooting

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A 36-year-old man was behind bars Friday for allegedly wounding a man in a shooting in Chula Vista.

Police officers investigating reports of multiple shots fired in the vicinity of Date and I streets found the victim suffering from a bullet wound to the side of his abdomen shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a Chula Vista police statement. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for non- life-threatening injuries.

The wounded man told authorities he was shot by Anthony Pollock, according to police. A suspected motive was not immediately disclosed.

Pollock surrendered after officers went to his home in the 300 block of Morehouse Place, police said. He was subsequently booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
