VISTA, Calif. – A Vista man was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl from Texas in a parking lot in Los Angeles, police announced Tuesday.
FBI Fugitive Task Force took 21-year-old Cameron Frazier into custody around 9:30 a.m. outside his home in Vista, Los Angeles Police Department said.
Kristine Carman was visiting the region from Houston when she was killed Jan. 6 at the Villa Marina Marketplace shopping center in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Del Rey, at the edge of Marina del Rey, KTLA reported. Carman was found shot to death inside a vehicle.
The killing was the result of a failed robbery outside Jerry’s Deli, according to LAPD.
Frazier was set to be booked on an existing arrest warrant and held without bail, KTLA reported. Police said he was expected to appear for arraignment Wednesday.
Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call LAPD West Bureau Homicide investigators at 213-382-9470.
A memorial service was held for Carman, the second oldest of six siblings, on Monday, according to a GoFundMe page.
