‘Neatly groomed’ man robs Scripps Poway bank
SAN DIEGO — The FBI Tuesday circulated surveillance photos of a man dubbed the “Neatly Groomed Bandit.”
Just after 4:30 p.m. Friday, the clean-cut bandit walked into the North Island Credit Union at 10549 Scripps Poway Parkway and waited in line for a teller, FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth said.
The robber whispered his demand to the employee and said no one would get hurt as long as the teller complied, according to Foxworth. The robber then showed the teller a demand note that demanded specific denominations for the cash doled out.
The robber made his getaway in a silver, four-door, mid-sized sedan. He was described as a white, in his early 30s, around 180 pounds and 6-feet tall to 6-foot-2, with brown eyes, dark brown hair and a full, neatly trimmed beard.
He was wearing a dark, three-quarter-length coat, maroon scarf, dark jeans, black baseball cap and dress shoes.
Authorities asked anyone with information on the robbery to call the FBI at (858) 320-1800, or Crime Stoppers at (888) 540-8477.
