Lifeguards rescue swimmer in Ocean Beach
OCEAN BEACH, Calif. — A swimmer in distress was rescued by lifeguards in Ocean Beach Tuesday afternoon.
The woman was plucked from the water by a lifeguard on a jet ski about 1:50 p.m. and brought to the Abbott Street lifeguard station, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson said.
Swanson said the woman, whose name was not released, was treated for apparent hypothermia, but her condition was not severe enough to require hospitalization.
The woman was eventually placed under the care of the county’s mental health division, he said.
