UPDATE: At least 14 killed in San Bernardino mass shooting; two suspects dead

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – A SWAT standoff is taking place in San Bernardino after a report of 20 people were injured in a shooting, authorities said.

San Bernardino Fire Department units were responding to a report of a “20-victim shooting” incident in the 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue, the Fire Department tweeted shortly before 11:15 a.m.

The LA Times reports: Sgt. Vicki Cervantes, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino Police Department, told reporters at the scene up to three shooters were reported inside the Inland Regional Center. Officers have not secured the building and going door-to-door.

The suspects, she said, are heavily armed and were possibly wearing body armor.

Wednesday’s San Bernardino, California, shooting occurred at the Inland Regional Center, a facility for people with developmental disabilities. It is unclear how many people were at the facility at the time of the shooting. The center’s Facebook page says it employs nearly 670 staff members at its facilities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, providing service to more than 30,200 people.

  • There were multiple victims, the sheriff’s department reported.

LA Times reports:
Police are now searching for a black sport utility vehicle that fled
the scene of a mass shooting that left up to 20 people injured inside of
a San Bernardino social services office on Wednesday morning, federal
law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times.

A San Bernardino police spokeswoman also confirmed there “are fatalities,” but was unsure of how many people had been killed.

At least three suspected shooters fled the building after gunfire
erupted, according to the sources, who requested anonymity because the
investigation is active and ongoing.

Heavily armed police  surrounded a  damaged black SUV in San Bernardino Wednesday afternoon a couple of miles from the scene of a mass shooting.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed the damaged SUV with several of its windows shot out and the doors opened.
