SAN DIEGO — A 22-year-old man was wounded in a gang-related shooting in Normal Heights, police said Monday.

The victim was issued a gang challenge, then got involved in a physical altercation with at least two people in the 4500 block of Cherokee Avenue near Monroe Avenue around 6:10 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings said.

At some point during the fight, one suspect pulled a handgun and shot the victim in his arm, Jennings said. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described the gunman as Hispanic, in his 20s and dressed in dark clothing. He was last seen running away from the scene.

  • The criminal will always get a weapon!

Sad but true! No amount of legislation will prevent a bad guy from getting a weapon! But, Legislation will keep you or your upright and law abiding neighbor from purchasing personal protection! Stay PRO CHOICE! Email your assembly member and tell them how important it is that no new laws are made on firearms! The laws will restrict YOU not the CRIMINAL! Government is not the solution, Government is the problem (Ronald Reagan)
