Oceanside police search for vehicle break-in bandit

OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- The Oceanside Police Department circulated surveillance photos Wednesday in hopes of catching a man who has been breaking into vehicles near the beach.

Police said vehicles have been targeted in the northern beach areas of the city when valuables or personal items were left in plain sight. Police reminded people to stow or hide valuable items when leaving a vehicle unattended.

Anyone with information on the thief's identity was asked to call Detective Wallace at 760-435-4892.
